  • How much does it cost to enter?
  • A modest submission fee of $40.00 will be required to cover the expense of a professional jurying site.

  • Is the exhibition juried?
  • The "open" exhibition will not be juried. It is open to anyone. All submissions will be included in the "open" exhibition. The "juried" exhibition will be juried.

  • How many models and categories can I enter?
  • We will accept only one model per artist or collaborative team.

  • What kinds of biological organisms are eligible for models?
  • We will accept models that represent almost any biological lifeform: Botany, Zoology, and Microbiology. This is based on the types of models the Blaschkas made - plant, animal, and models of microscopic life-forms. Models must represent an actual species (or its magnified parts, as in educational displays) to qualify.

  • Can I make up my own species?
  • No. We will not accept "fantasy" life-forms or "species" of your own invention.

  • Can I be creative in how I present my model?
  • Yes! In fact, one of the judging criteria will be creative presentation.

  • What is the deadline for entry?
  • We must receive all entries by midnight EST November 1st 2024

  • Will all entries be included in the physical show at Pittsburgh Glass Center?
  • No. The jury will select the 50 best models for the "juried" show. The "juried" show will open at the Pittsburgh Glass Center

  • Can I sell my model during the exhibition?
  • Yes. Models sold from the online "open" show will be the responsibility of the artist. Models sold at the juried "physical" show will be handled by the Pittsburgh Glass Center.

  • What happens to my model when the "juried" exhibitions are over?
  • All models not sold will be returned to the participating artist. Any that are sold will be sent to the purchaser

  • Will there be a catalog of models?
  • Yes. A virtual gallery on this website will serve as an online catalog and will remain posted indefinitely.
