Kiln cast, hollow core glass using the lost wax casting process.
This sculpture represents a Black Tailed Mule Deer, also known as Odocoileus hemionus. These deer live along the coast of the Salish Sea from Alaska to California. I have combined this bust with other creatures that live in and along the Salish Sea. These are Octopi, Crabs, Sea Star, Clams, Mussels and Barnacles.
The inspiration for this deer comes from my paddle boarding trips along the Salish Sea coastline and around the San Juan Islands.
