Have you ever looked in a mirror and wondered, "what is that on my face?"
The demodex folliculorum is one type of human skin mite found in the facial hair follicles on most humans. These tiny parasitic arachnids and humans usually have a symbiotic relationship when the human acts as host while the demodex consume sebum, or oily and waxy material secreted from hair follicles. This piece is made to scale as demodex measure around 0.4 mm in length and about 5 could fit head to tail on the top of a 2 mm pinhead.
